Motorized flap door hardware

Trendy flap door and lift systems are gaining traction in contemporary furniture design. In kitchens, bath-rooms, living rooms and the office, traditional doors are being replaced by flap doors that give the user a unique way to open their cupboards and offer easy and effortless access to the contents. No longer do doors protrude into the room and all storage space is completely accessible and useful.
 
Since Häfele’s acquisition of Huwil flap door hard-ware fittings business last fall, the company now offers a complete range of flap door hardware including a double flap lift up fitting, a stay flap fitting, a swing up front fitting and the parallel lift up front fitting. The highlight of this range are the motorized flap and lift systems that the company are now intro-ducing at ZOW.
 
The new motorized flap door fittings that cover the three different opening options of a double lift-up, swing-up front and a parallel lift-up front are called E-Senso, E-Verso and E-Strato. They are suitable for a broad range of flap door sizes and only require a relatively small cabinet depth, thus making perfect for use in smaller living room and bathroom furniture.
 
The E-Senso 3686 set is suitable for 2 panel doors from wood or aluminium frame front panels sized from 540 - 900 mm high flaps with a weight ranging from 2.5 kg - 22 kg. The E-Senso set 3687 swings up single doors sized 420 mm - 800 mm that weigh 2 kg - 18kg. The E-Strato 3688 set is an elegant front lift-up fitting for single wood or aluminium frame front panels doors. It is designed to move doors that are 342 mm - 650 mm in height and weigh 1.5 kg - 18 kg in parallel motion to the cabinet. The load capacity of the fitting can be adjusted based individually to match the weight of the panel.
 
Improved comfort for opening and closing

The new e-fittings are effortlessly operated via remote control. The receiver can be recessed in a 35 mm drilled cup and is capable of operating numerous door flaps. This new e-fitting from Häfele is a perfect solution for high gloss finishes, glass and mirror sur-faces because they will no longer need to be handled manually and will remain free of stains and fingers prints.

All three e-fittings are also equipped with soft closing systems so that the flaps open and close gently. In addition, the drive operates extremely quietly fur-ther enhancing the user comfort. 
 
Safety is a priority for all three fittings. A automated safety stop ensures that fingers or other objects can get caught or pinched in the doors. If an obstruction is noticed on opening or closing, the drive reverses direction of the door by 5 cm. And in case of a power failure the doors may be operated manually. Once power is restored, the system may be reset simply by pressing the remote control button.
 
The simple step-by-step installation is easy to follow for joiners as well as architectural woodworkers. An electrician is not required for the wiring or the final connections as it is a plug and play system that can be activated by following a simple programming procedure.
