Dialock Solutions for Electronically Locking Furniture Doors – Universal Locking Solutions from the Door to the Desk

With Dialock, furniture, too, can be seamlessly integrated into overall access control systems. Components designed to electronically lock all types of doors and locks enable universal locking solutions, from underground car parks to external and interior doors to reception desks and office desks.       

• Compared with mechanical solutions, electronically locking furniture doors offer considerable benefits in terms of security, company organisation and aesthetics.
  For example, lost or stolen keys can simply be blocked in the system and replaced at minimal expense. Using an electronic system is also the only way to grant flexible access authorisations, such as time restrictions.      
• Furthermore, electronic solutions also bring aesthetic benefits, for example by preventing locks on display cabinets from detracting from the overall visual impression in exclusive stores.

System 

The Dialock Furniture Terminal (DFT) lays the technical foundation for integrating furniture locks. The component of the Dialock electronic locking system works as a central control unit with a Tag-it ISO processor. An antenna, which can either be visible or installed beneath a veneer, enables DFT to respond to the electronic key's preprogrammed transponder without any contact. Up to eleven locks can be operated simultaneously and up to eight individually. It is also possible to combine multiple modules to create larger systems.      

Locks   

DFT can be used to control a wide range of locking mechanisms. The corresponding Dialock portfolio consists of components for a variety of applications. Furniture lock cases (FLC) and electronic furniture locks (EFL) are ideal for standard applications. Sliding door locks (SDL) were especially developed for glass sliding doors in furniture.       

Applications

There are many possible applications for electronic locking systems in furniture: Reception desks in office buildings, info points in department stores and nurse stations in hospitals are all suitable candidates, for example. These are all places of communication. Accordingly, they should appear bright, welcoming and, above all, open. Security considerations, however, often stand in the way of this design objective. Only since the recent extension of electronic locking systems to furniture and furnishings have new and varied opportunities emerged here. A recent example is the redesigned entrance area of the State parliament of Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart, Germany.       

With its Dialock solutions for retail stores, Häfele is presenting an electronic concept for locking display cabinets developed especially to meet the exacting standards of the store fixtures sector. Compared with mechanical locks, the system offers extensive benefits in terms of security, company organisation and aesthetics. The Berlin-based department store "KaDeWe" and jewellery giant "Schmuckwelten" in Pforzheim, Germany, are already using the new system.
